Usually a bread basket is provided with a restaurant meal. The crispy, thin, flat bread is called Pane Carasau. It has ancient roots as evidence of this bread has been found in Nuraghes i.e it was eaten before 1000 BCE! If kept dry, it can stay edible for up to a year and was invented for shepherds to take out into the fields.
